Valentine Hearts Crochet Mug – Free Pattern

Valentine Hearts Crochet Mug

I’m back just in time with another festive crochet mug for the play kitchen. This cute Valentine hearts crochet mug is designed in a fair isle style similar to my Christmas mug patterns. This festive version features a heart motif to celebrate the season of love.

This free crochet mug is quick to make, beginner-friendly, and a fun addition to any pretend play setup. My little one loves using it in the play kitchen, and I hope it brings just as much joy to your home.

If you’re as obsessed with seasonal crochet mugs as we are, be sure to check out the full collection. In addition to this Valentine hearts mug and the Christmas designs, I’ve also created crochet mugs for Halloween and winter, which includes a snowman, a cauldron, and a mummy mug—something handmade for every season.

Materials:

  • 3mm hook
  • Dark pink, light pink, brown yarn, and white. I used light (3) acrylic yarn.
  • Stuffing material
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Stitch marker

Finished size:

Approx. 6.5cm tall by 10.5cm wide (including handle).

Terms and abbreviations (US Terms):

  • Chain (ch)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Increase (inc)
  • Decrease (dec)

Pattern Notes:

-This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. There is no need to join with a slip stitch at the end of each round.

-When changing colour, be sure to switch mid stitch. To do so, insert your hook with Colour A in the stitch before the colour change, yarn over pulling two loops of colour A, then switch colour and yarn over with Colour B.

-When working with two colours, be careful that your tension is not too tight, especially when changing colours after several stitches. If you find that your mug has a strange shape, you may want to carry your yarn. See tutorial here.
