Do you have cherished memories of going camping every summer with your family? I certainly do, and now that I have a family of my own, I’m so excited to pass on these traditions. I especially love that feeling of sleeping under the stars, hot dogs, s’mores, and fresh coffee made on the campfire. These have inspired me to design this free crochet camp mug pattern.
This tapestry crochet camp mug is quick, easy, and beginner-friendly. It is a perfect addition to the play kitchen or to go along with all the summer crochet play food. Whether for pretend play or to bring some handmade fun to the campsite, I hope this crochet summer camp mug can aid in forming all those magical memories.

Materials:
- 3mm hook
- Green or orange, white, and brown yarn. I used light (3) acrylic yarn.
- Stuffing material
- Scissors
- Needle
- Stitch marker
Finished Size:
Approx. 8.5cm tall by 11cm wide (including handle).
*Size will vary depending on yarn and hook sized used.
Terms and Abbreviations (US Terms):
- Chain (ch)
- Single Crochet (sc)
- Half Double Crochet (hdc)
- Increase (inc)
- Decrease (dec)
Pattern Notes:
-This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. There is no need to join with a slip stitch at the end of each round.
-When changing colour, be sure to switch mid stitch. To do so, insert your hook with Colour A in the stitch before the colour change, yarn over pulling two loops of colour A, then switch colour and yarn over with Colour B.
-When working with two colours, be careful that your tension is not too tight, especially when changing colours after several stitches. If you find that your mug has a strange shape, you may want to carry your yarn. See tutorial here.

Steam:
If desired, you can add a little “steam” to show that your coffee mug is pipping hot. To do so, cut a small thread of white yarn (around 10 cm), weave it through the centre of the coffee, and tie it in place. With cat slicker brush, brush the yarn to separate yarn threads and create texture. If necessary, cut the yarn to a desired length, you can even twirl the strands to form the smoke.

Handle:
Round 1: In dark green, 6 sc in a magic circle. (6)
Rounds 2-20: Sc around. Cut off leaving a long tail for sewing. (6)

To Assemble:
-Put stuffing into the mug and stitch the coffee inside the mug in the back loops created in round 20.
-Attach the handle to the side of the mug.
-Enjoy!
