Children\u2019s books are magical to me. Not only are they filled with magnificent and whimsical illustrations, most also have the greatest stories with the loveliest heartfelt messages. Every time I read one of these stories with my child, I am always in awe of the books\u2019 powers to wonder and to create the best heartwarming feelings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love collecting seasonal books and really enjoy putting together themed bookshelves. Here, I thought I would share some of my favourite fall books in the hopes they inspire you and bring warm cozy feelings to you and your family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn<\/em> by Kenard Pak<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn<\/em> is a beautiful book about a child walking through nature and noticing all the changes that the fall season brings. I especially love that the author also published Goodbye Autumn, Hello Winter <\/em>and Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring<\/em>, making it the perfect series to talk about seasons. (I believe Pak is also currently working on Hello Summer<\/em>.)

Little Goose\u2019s Autumn<\/em> by Elli Woollard & Briony May Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little Goose\u2019s Autumn<\/em> is probably my favourite of this list. Briony May Smith\u2019s illustrations are absolutely stunning and are sure to bring all the autumn feels. The book tells the story of a little goose who senses that change is coming but is not quite sure about her place in the world. It is lovely, warm, heartfelt, and a beautiful story of self-discovery.

Apple Cake, a Gratitude<\/em> by Dawn Casey & Genevieve Godbout<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple Cake<\/em>\u2019s story is simple and short. It follows a little girl’s journey as she thanks the things that nature has to offer which happen to be the ingredients for apple cake. The illustrations are magnificent and, as a delightful plus, an apple cake recipe is also included. This is also a great book for Thanksgiving.

The Perfect Pumpkin Pie<\/em> by Denys Cazet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin pie\u2026I must have one before I die.\u201d This one is a different tone from the others, it is more spooky but also very fun! The book follows Mr. Wilkerson, a bitter old man, after his mysterious death as he comes back to haunt for the perfect pumpkin pie. The writing is witty, fun, and the rhymes are sure to stick in your head.

The Scarecrow<\/em> by Beth Ferry, illustrated by the Fan Brothers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Probably the most heartwarming book of the list and another one of my favourite. The Scarecrow<\/em> is a story about unlikely friends, a scarecrow and a crow, and the bond they will forever share. I just love the style of the Fan Brothers and own several books they have illustrated.

The Antlered Ship<\/em> by Dashka Slater, Illustrated by the Fan Brothers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Antlered Ship<\/em> is another book illustrated by the Fan Brothers and it is as beautiful as The Scarecrow<\/em>. Although, this is not specially about fall, the woodland creatures and the atmosphere make this story about friendship a great one to bring out in autumn.

Pumpkin Soup<\/em> by Helen Cooper<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pumpkin soup is arguably the perfect seasonal meal (especially paired with hot crusty bread and butter) to put you in the fall mood. So will this book as it follows the Cat, the Squirrel, and the Duck through their friendship tribulations over making pumpkin soup. A fun classic fall book.

T\u00e9a et T\u00e9o <\/em>by Eric Salomon & Bertrand Bataille<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e9a et T\u00e9o is a beautifully illustrated French book. It follows two leaves as their colours change through the season. When one falls off their tree, the other goes on a quest to be reunited as they promised to stay together forever. To me, the images and colours of the book are the epitome of fall.
