Doilies, doilies, doilies! Do you love making doilies as much as I do? What is so addictive about making them? I\u2019m not sure, but I do know that I truly enjoy making them and making seasonal ones are so much fun (see my Halloween collection here<\/a>). So it is no surprise that I have made several Christmas ones too. As such, please let me share my favourite crochet doilies: Christmas edition!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up, cute little snowmen! This pattern was designed by Marsha Glassner and, like its name suggests, includes instructions on how to customize your snowmen in different manners. I chose a classic red and green hat with a carrot nose, but there are many other options. I am in awe at Glassner\u2019s creativity, not only she has created the Boo! doily (see that here<\/a>), but she has also designed several amazing seasonal doilies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pattern [Free]: Santas by the Dozen<\/a> by Marsha Glassner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Santa Claus is coming to town! This is another pattern created by Marsha Glassner that I adore. I just think the way it was created is so clever. I love the repeating pattern, I love Santa\u2019s eyes peeping under his hat, his little button nose, and the amazing beard!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I had green yarn and since I was so inspired by this pattern, I decided to create an elf version by modifying it slightly. By adding pointy little ears and by changing the beards into collars, I think I succeeded in creating a perfect match for my Santa doily.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wow! This runner is quite something and is absolutely huge. So big that my dining table is barely big enough for it. But what a beauty it is and looking at it just fills me with Christmas cheer. Is there something more magical than making nine reindeers pulling Santa\u2019s sleigh? This design is wonderful, the original pattern also suggests sewing in a set of lights for even more Christmas wonder. As I said, this is huge, so it took some time to make, but if you love the filet technique and are looking for the perfect Christmas runner, I think this is it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
